Everything Happens for a Reason

College basketball has not been what I have planned it to be at all. I am now entering my 6th and final year of being a college-athelete - 2 more years than I ever thought I’d play. I had a perfect plan of going to Villanova to play basketball for 4 years, and graduate with a degree in engineering.

None of those things came true.

I stopped engineering in the summer before my sophomore year when I realized it wasn’t for me. Between the beginning of sophomore year and junior year I had tried three different majors to figure out what I wanted to do. In basketball, I had red-shirted my sophomore year, because my coaches thought it would be best. 2 games into my junior year, I decided to transfer. At this point nothing had gone to plan.

Things have been completely different since I got to University of Delaware. I retained the relationships I had built at Villanova through basketball, but I wanted to get back on track with my career. I now am graduated with a major in Business Administration, Management, and Operations. I have found that I love business and see myself using this degree in my future. As far as basketball goes, I love my basketball team and am playing the best season of my life at Delaware. I even met my girlfriend of almost 2 years at UD.

My story may be a little long and hard to follow, but basically what I wanted to get across is that everything happens for a reason. Your path may not be what you thought, but stick to it. It’ll be worth it
