β€œYou can’t tell your story before it happens, but that doesn’t mean you can’t write it as you go and make it what you want.”

The EM-POWERMENT Movement

  • THE PURPOSE

EM-POWERMENT began as a place to bring the reality of college athletics to light through the raw testimonies and conversations of former and current college athletes. EM-POWERMENT is not a resource that assumes what you need, but rather a malleable support system around your story. We are building a universal playing field of mental support for anyone who is seeking to find or build their voice. We are a resource for your needs. Advice is shared in EM-POWERMENT blogs and testimonies in hopes of creating a better experience for athletes who are to follow. EM-POWERMENT is a community to connect, engage, and support one another. We are not just our sports. We are our stories. And once we learn to tell our stories in our own words, we become more empowered.

  • THE MOTTO

Play for those who came before, create for those who follow. We are not just our sports; we are our stories. Don’t silence yours. This is the EM-POWERMENT sports movement, empowering the next generation of athletes.

  • THE FOUNDER

Emily Esposito has experienced first hand what it means to be a college athlete in many different ways. She began her college career as a D1 basketball player for Villanova University. She then transferred to play basketball at Boston University. Amidst applying to colleges, the recruiting process, transferring colleges, and maintaining her status as an athlete, Emily has faced a number of personal challenges. Whether it be mental health, finding academic balance, or excelling at her sport, she founded the EM-POWERMENT movement to give future college athletes the supportive community of knowledge she wish she had.
